Temperature Files are simply text files that are generated and maintained by other programs. Each line contains one entry in the format “mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm temp” for date, time and temperature (floating point number in Fahrenheit). An example of such a line is

Instead of the temperature value the text “Error” may appear instead.
It should be noted that no part of SAFO is generating or manipulating such files
One provider of such data is a software named EDIOS, distributed by Embedded Data Systems (EDS).
Since Version 4.2.1 a different method has been added to get the temperature values: instead of relying on EDIOS, SAFO can now read directly from the HA7Net Adapter (see more >here) also from EDS, effectively bypassing EDIOS. Note, that although in this case no files are involved, the term “temperature files” has been retained for these objects.
